Be still my heart and know your God,
Who pours His graces on the good and the bad.
I lift my eyes and see Him in the sky,
But there are those His existence they deny.
I stand atop a rock and feel Him in the breeze.
He surrounds me with wonders that never cease.
I join the eagle in singing Him praise
For He has blessed me all of my days.
The beauty that surrounds me is but a glimpse of His glory.
I can’t put my arms around Him. He’s a mystery.
As clear as the blue sky that is above me
I know His love for me is for eternity
Even unclean spirits know and bow before him
But they have chosen the side that is dark and dim
And so I pray and pray repeatedly
That in everything I do I will see Him more clearly, Love Him more dearly
and follow him more nearly.
If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
~ Psalm 95
Then they came to Capernaum,
and on the sabbath Jesus entered the synagogue and taught.
The people were astonished at his teaching,
for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.
In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit;
he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”
Jesus rebuked him and said,
“Quiet! Come out of him!”
The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him.
All were amazed and asked one another,
“What is this? A new teaching with authority.
He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.”
His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee.
