If people would only see others as their brothers or sisters, there would be less prejudice and hatred in this world. Wars will cease and violence against others will stop.
If we would only see every woman as our mother or sister, sexual abuses and exploitation will become unheard of. Every woman will be treated with love and accorded respect and dignity.
If we would only see every man as our father or brother, there will be more openness and willingness to work together. We will be able to build a bright and better world for our children.
If we would only see ourselves as one big family, there will be more sharing and caring among all of us. Hunger and want will vanish for the earth is more than abundant to supply us all our needs.
If I just realize that the beating in my heart that keeps me alive is the same as the rhythm that beats in others; I will learn that we are one and come from the same Source, that indeed we are all brothers and sisters under the Fatherhood of God.
Guide me, Lord, in the way of your commands.
Psalm 119
The mother of Jesus and his brothers came to him
but were unable to join him because of the crowd.
He was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside
and they wish to see you.”
He said to them in reply, “My mother and my brothers
are those who hear the word of God and act on it.”
Luke 8:19-21
