There are probably some people who’d wish they had lived during the time of Christ. Then. faith and believing would be easier if they were in direct contact with Christ himself. I think they would be disappointed. Believing and faith would be as easy or as difficult today as it would have been then. Many did not believe what Christ was saying or doing then. In fact, heĀ was put to death by crucifixion for his words and deeds. Man sees what he wants to see and he finds what he seeks. If I seek love and forgiveness, I will find love and forgiveness. If I seek hatred and revenge I will have hatred and revenge. If I seek blessings, I will see them everywhere in my life, even in the most ordinary things. If I seek answers, the very questions I ask will become my answers. Faith is a gift from God but I have to make it my own by choice. The life of the Spirit is comes to those who seek it and choose it.
Jesus spoke to the crowds, “But to what will I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to one another, ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we wailed, and you did not mourn.’ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon’; the Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.” Matthew 11:16-19
