The tax collector stood off at a distance
and would not even raise his eyes to heaven
but beat his breast and prayed,

The sun rose up again this morning
Another beautiful and brand new day
I’m grateful for there is no telling
If tomorrow would even come our way.
The wind and skies and clouds and seas awake
Bringing the sight and smell of minty freshness
A blessing undeserved yet given with much love.
In humble gratitude, a silent pray’r I make
For sharing with me all of His fullness
And all His bountiful graces from above
‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’
