Matching Words With Deeds

Peter said to him,
“Master, why can I not follow you now?
I will lay down my life for you.”
Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me?
Amen, amen, I say to you, the cock will not crow
before you deny me three times.”
~ John 13:37-38

I love proclaiming, speaking of and writing about the love, beauty and goodness there is in my life. I often get overwhelmed by my feelings, I tend to sound cheesy, exaggerating and even hyperbolic. People would sometimes doubt whether I really mean what I say or they’d think I was saying things tongue in cheek.

I will persist however. There is so much pain and anger in the world, I want people to see the love that there is. There is so much that is wrong and ugly in the world, I want to share the beauty I see all around me. There is so much suffering and evil in the world, I want to show that there is as much goodness that brings light and meaning into people’s lives. For the essence and the true meaning of love, beauty and goodness can only be understood and seen as the truth only in their infinitude.

And so that people may believe my words and see them as true, I must make my actions match my words. What they hear me say should be what they see me do.
