“And the Word Was Made Flesh.”

P1410349
I love words. I believe I have a certain facility with words.
I like reading them, writing them and hearing them.
I love stringing them together to express my innermost thoughts
and I find that process most fascinating.
I read or listen to the words of great men to get a glimpse of the persons
that they were and be inspired.
‘For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.’

I get a certain sense of deep connectedness when I pray the Lord’s Prayer.
These are words from Jesus himself.
They came from his mouth so I can get a glimpse of his heart.
I can feel peace and acceptance of everything there is in his life
and how it all comes together in the will of the Father.
The coming together is not just among people but of the entire creation.
I can feel his childlike innocence and total trust in the Father
as he asks for daily sustenance and protection from evil.
I can feel the loving and trusting relationship between him and the Father.
I feel secure to put myself in the hands that made as he teaches me to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
