Transformative and Salvific Acts

Jesus always had a special place in his heart for the poor, the afflicted and the suffering, as well as for the oppressed and the abandoned. He taught me that life is not easy. In fact, he told his disciples to take up their cross daily. I have taken to heart his teachings on the transformative power of love. Suffering and pain, borne out of love, changes us and others for the better. A life lived just for one’s self is selfish and sad. A life lived for others, that is what makes one glad. While Jesus is realistic not to be blind-sided by sadness and suffering, he also had the most comforting words for those who would follow him.

“Life is difficult. This is the great truth, one of the greatest truths—it is a great truth because once we see this truth, we transcend it.”
~ M. Scott Peck

“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
~ Jesus Christ

“Amen. Let it be.”
