Yesterday, January 1st was the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. This video captures the love and devotion that the Kapampangan have for Mary as Mother of God, adopting her as their own Ima and Indu. No other words are as comforting to the Kapampangan as these two words for Mother. There is a unique and traditional devotion to Mary in Pampanga as Indu ning Kapaldanan (Mother of Remedies/Virgen de los Remedios). The archdiocesan seminary is named after Indu ning Mayap a Usuk (Mother of Good Counsel). The Archdiocese is under her Patronage as Indung alang Musing (Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception).
